'Here I Am' Era

Stepping into the future with a global Dance hit, Kelly Rowland was now ready to exert full control on a career that has already produced millions of album sales, smash records and accolades.

Despite being without a label for almost an entire year, Rowland embarked on the recording sessions for her third studio album and it was during one of those recording sessions that she caught the attention of former label head Sylvia Rhone which lead to the signing of a new record deal with Universal Motown Records after hearing the project's then international lead single "Commander". The song later garnered much acclaim from contemporary critics for Rowland's vocal performance as well as Guetta's musical production, and making splashes on every chart you can possibly think of.

Originally slated for release in 2010, the new disc was supposed to trail the lightning success of her collaboration with French Dance producer David Guetta on "When Love Takes Over" and "Commander" but subsequent singles ("Rose Colored Glasses", "Grown Woman" and "Forever and a Day") quickly cooled and were subsequently ditched from the final disc.

The project got a much needed boost when she teamed with Lil Wayne on the sexy summer jam "Motivation." The record showcased a more sensual side of the singer, who demanded her lover "last more rounds." It peaked at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, where it remained for seven nonconsecutive weeks, making it her highest performing single as a solo artist.

Following the success of her previous single, Rowland opted to follow up the song with the Hit Boy piano-driven track featuring rapper Big Sean. In the follow-up clip for the Here I Am track, Rowland puts her sexuality on full display, wearing several skin-baring bodysuits. The R&B singer shows some sexual swagger as she grinds, rubs and sizes up a bevy of men.
